Tag You’re It!

I’m getting so much german donut schlong this week its, uh,  ridickulous…

Yet another wonderful blogger award has been bestowed on LA Juice this week, the “Tell me About Yourself Award” by the fantabulous and ultra pink Jacqui at Chicktuition:

I don’t know what I did to deserve all of this, but  I am thrilled to be so well thought of by my favorite blogstresses.  Thank you, my dear Chicklette.

The TMAYA is an award I am supposed to pass along, first telling you 7  things about myself and then bestowing it on 15 bloggers.

Of course, that presents a problem. I madly adore the blogs and bloggers I read.  And at every opportunity I try to convince you to read these people, but there are only about 8 of them, total. And I noticed that a few of the bloggers to whom I forwarded the Liebster Award have the same problem: Everyone they knew had already received the award. I could pretend that someday I’ll have tens of tens of blogger friends, but I think we all know I shot myself in the “WordprAss” with the Blogher Crowd, so, Que Sera, Sera.

It feels too self serving to tell you 7 things about myself and then not be able to pass the award along properly. So I am gonna have to go off script here. Quelle Surprise, no? Probably all you need to know about me anyway….

If you are listed below; Two things. First, I adore you. Second, you can either (a) follow the TMAYA Award rules (7 things/15 bloggers) or (b) play a new game I am making up right now-as you read this- called “Tag, You’re The Chit”.

You all have options:  Forward the TMAYA to 15 other bloggers and tell us 7 things about yourself; play Tag; OR do both.  I’ll get to the task of explaining the concept of “Tag” in a moment.

First, I want to explain to the non-blogger what these awards are all about.  The benefit of these “chain awards”  (beside learning that the bloggers you read really do appreciate you and read your blog) is that you get to give them a linkback.  Linkbacks matter for Google ranking and SEO stuff, so I definitely like to play along. Plus there is no better way to thank a bestowing blogger for an award than to give them a linkback. And that got me thinking…

I’d like to be able to “grow” this blogger linkback award game and I have an idea. Rather than create an award, I’m going to start a linkback game of “Tag”.   I give you:

Tag, You’re the Chit!

The concept: On a day when you- as a blogger- want to post, but don’t have anything or are too busy to write (for whatever reason) you can pose a “Tag” question on your blog, and identify one or more of your favorite bloggers to answer the question.

They get to answer the question- via email- and you post their response, making them a guest blogger on your blog.  Everyone WINS! You get a guest poster and they get the awesome Tag badge below.  This has a huge benefit  for the Tagette because there is only one thing is more awesome for a blogger than a linkback and that is a guest post.  Know why, chicken thigh?

Because a guest post introduces your style, brand, writing to a whole group of people who might not know you exist and it helps your SEO. And if you get tagged more than once, the pressure is off, because it will be a new question!

I know, I am like BASF, aren’t I?  I do make the stuff you need better. One might even say that this makes me a BASF Mothra Faulker, no?  And before I get any cornier, let’s shift gear. I give you THE INAUGURAL GAME OF TAG, YOU’RE THE CHIT:

Official Rules of “Tag You’re the Chit”

1. If you were tagged, answer the question, and send the answer to your Tagger (me, in this instance, at lajuice@la-juice.com.) Your tagger will make your answer a guest post on their blog that week.

2. Copy the awesome Tag Badge and post it on your website, like any other award, to use on your site as you please.

3.When you announce to your readers that you have been tagged (and in fact are the chit) you get to post your own question on your blog, and tag someone else.

4. You don’t even have to wait to be tagged to play, you can just start a game on your own.

You can get the gorgeous Game Badge below, by highlighting the code in my comment, and then hitting “ctrl c”. I tested it, it works, though the badge is tiny. I’ll try to fix!  Now, I know it would be good if you could cut and paste these rules, but I have a weird copyright plugin set up that prevents you from copy/pasting (sorry!) , so if you can’t get the rules and badge for any reason at all, email me and I will send them to you.
